Role-Based Access Control

Role-based access for employees ensures that each team member has access to only the information and tools necessary for their specific role. By assigning roles with predefined permissions, organizations can control what data and functionalities employees can view, edit, or manage. This approach enhances security by limiting access to sensitive information based on job responsibilities, while also streamlining workflows by providing users with relevant resources and features aligned with their duties. Role-based access helps maintain data integrity, prevents unauthorized actions, and ensures that each employee can perform their tasks efficiently within their designated scope of access.

The admin of the application has complete access to the whole application. As an admin, you can create roles for your sub-ordinates and define their work clearly. You can customize the roles based on your preference and requirements.

How To Create A Role

To create a role for a team member who has access only to create/manage master data, here's what you can do,

  1. Hover over the "Settings icon in the sidebar and select Roles". Click on the "+New" button.

  2. A window appears. Enter a relevant name for the role you are about to create. For this example, let us name it Master-Data-Operator. Then Click on "Save" button.

  3. Define Access Level - Since you are going to assign only master data related access,

    • Select "None" for all the entities that are not a part of master data. Like "Landing Page" -> Set to "None".

    • Select "All" for master data objects like "Contacts", "Accounts", "Products", "Bookings".

  4. Click on "Save".

You have successfully created a customized role, that will give access only to master data.
